Housie tickets with names of Gods in place of the usual numbers. To prepare these tickets list out the 108 names of Gods. With the use of computer software, you can prepare any number of tickets - Each bearing nine names of Gods from these 108. The software ensures that 'No two tickets are identical.'
List of 108 names.
108 individual chits bearing one name each.
How to play:
Same way as normal housie is played. i.e. Distribute tickets to all players. Pick out one chit at a time and call out the name. Tick the same in the list.
You can have prizes for first line, second line, third line and full house.
Benefits of the game:
Nama-Smaran, done easily with full concentration. (Try to recollect how you behave when you play housie).
While playing you can also ask children question on the names called (in short). You can ask whether they can recollect any bhajan or shloka with the particular name, and reward children who answer. (This is revision the fun way).
This game can be played even with large number of people. In fact the more the merrier.
Game 2
This same game can be modified for our individual balvikas classes where number of children is normally much smaller.
Material Required:
Here, we do not use the housie tickets. Instead we have two sets of chits with the names of god and one list.
How to play:
Distribute one set of chits equally among the children. With the second set play housie as usual, picking up one chit at a time and calling out the name.
The child how has corresponding chit has to surrender his chit. Go on playing till only one chit remains with one child. That child is the winner.
Benefits of the game:
Nama-Smaran.
The winner holds on to gods name the longest hence he is the winner.
Like the earlier game, this one also can be used for revision.
108 names of gods which can be used for both the above games. Gurus can make additions to this list.
